Play On!
Paul and his Slide Didge! Play On! The fun side of music! Paul created this new show in 2003. Its filled with new songs and unusual instruments including pan pipes, bagpipes, nose flute, boom whackers, a homegrown and homemade gourd lute which also houses a Theremin - the only instrument that can be played without touching it - a musical saw with string quintet backing and a new kind of didgeridoo. There is audience participation in playing and singing, and a good time is had by all! Paul tried out the show at Seeds Elementary School at UCLA, and at Echo Horizon School in Culver City where Cathleen Wolff, the Arts Education Coordinator had this to say: Paul Tracey once
again brings his treasure trove of instruments and his sly wit together
to create a thoroughly entertaining and educational program showcasing
an array of unique instruments. The show was a big hit at Agua Dulce Elementary School where the students were bursting with questions. And this is what Shirley Bianco of Notre Dame Academy in Los Angeles said: Paul Traceys Play On! with its presentation of a variety of unique instruments, appealed to the creativity and curiosity of our students. From the beginning, Paul thoroughly engaged both students and teachers with his expertise, humor and entertaining personality.
Pauls advice: when youre young, study something really hard and get good at it - whatever it is. Become an expert. The result? You can enjoy it for the rest of your life. In Pauls case it was music. You will be able to see from this performance what enjoyment and deep satisfaction Paul gets from his music. This is evident in his joyous 45 minute assembly program. He ignites students curiosity.
In Orange County, California, please book Play On! with The Orange County Performing Arts Center at (714) 556-2122 ext. 4310. Elsewhere, please call Paul direct for this show at (310) 454-4575. Book this performance.
Paul and his magical home grown Theremin
Paul as the English choir boy he once was! Quoted from student letters: Thank you for coming to Danbrook School. I really enjoyed your absence. (!) You were wonderful at the assembly. You should be a professional. (!)
